o Harlow the Bunny
- Information to make it with the overalls.
DIFFICULTY
Intermediate (with video tutorials available to help beginners)
SKILLS REQUIRED
Crocheting in spiral, magic ring, chain, slip stitch, single crochet stitch, increasing and decreasing.
Harlow Materials:
Yarn:
-2 skeins of chunky chenille yarn for the main color 120m (131 yards) per skein:(Ex. Premier Parfait chunky, Hobbii Honey Bunny, Hobbii Baby Snuggle, KecheVelvet) Brown, gray or white.
-Partial skeins in the same brand of yarn for the shirt, overalls, carrots, carrots top, headband, rosette, and leaves
-Partial skein of fluffy or fur yarn in a smaller weight of yarn if you want to use it for the tail. Otherwise, you can just use regular chenille.
-A small amount of worsted weight, size 4 yarn (cotton or acrylic) for nose, facial indentions, and sewing. If you are using worsted weight yarn, you may want to use sport weight yarn, up to you.
-Safety Eyes or Embroider your own: I used 25mm and 30mm recessed (sinker)eyes. You can adjust the eye size and style to your preference. Please consider that you will have to adjust the location of the rows you eyes are placed on if use a different size. All eyes used on my patterns are hand painted by me. They are available here if interested: www.3jshandcrafts.com
-Optional: Buttons - I ordered my buttons off of Amazon but you can use any you want. https://a.co/d/9rLveAd
-Crochet hook: 4.5 mm to make the bunny and all accessories. Use a 5 mm hook for the overalls
-Stuffing: Polyester Fiber fill
-ST markers, scissors, and tapestry/darning sewing needle. I prefer a curved needle. The needle will be used to sew on ears, head, and facial features.
Optional: Bulb or gourd shaped small safety pins if you want your headband and carrot to be removeable.
Size: Depending on your tension and if you use the indicated material and hook, your finished toy should measure approximately 17” from top of ears to bottom of feet.
